La Laguna

Driving from the wild and bare landscape around El Teide to La Laguna meant driving from sunny to cloudy (and tomorrow rainy) weather. La Laguna was the ancient capital of the Canary Islands and is home to one of Spain’s larger universities (with some 30,000 students).

Its historical center was declared a world heritage site by Unesco end last century. The center was nice but not that impressive possibly also because all shops were closed (apparently, Saturday (afternoon) is weekend for all, also for the shop owners).

Being an university city and a an old capital I would expect that there are some nice restaurants. We’ll find out tonight and I’ll let you know tomorrow. Cheers.

(PS: the first photo is still from around El Teide. Shot early in the morning.)
